MARINA FOSSATI: A WOMEN'S STORY

Marina Fossati was born from the will of the homonymous founder of continuing the artisan tradition of her father, a carpenter of the Teatro alla Scala in Milano, in a field more appropriate to her: fashion jewelry.

Following the trends of the time and with the introduction of innovatice materials, her creations of rings, brooches, necklaces, bracelets, ranged from plastics to worked metals, using crystals, semi-precious stones, pearls, corals and ivories.

Moved by the ambition to always make new and original accessories, supported by an extraordinary technical ability, Marina began to collaborate with the most renowned Italian designers in the years of their debut.

Anna Tarabelloni arrives in Milan from the Emilian-Romagna province in the second half of the 1970s.

Anna becomes in a few years partner of Marina and in the following decade the two women collaborate in the creation of the collections and their distribution in the best stores of the country.

At the end of the 1980s Anna acquires the brand from Marina.

Ilaria grows up in the artistic Milano of her mother and after graduating in Political Science, began working with her in the first half of the 1990s, designing a collection of bags to complement the fashion jewelry proposals they have already created together.

In the following years mother and daughter collaborate on the different collections and extend the distribution to foreign countries, always managing to maintain the artisanal origins of the products.

Over time, the workshop in Via Gesù 15 becomes a Milanese lounge, where the affectionate high society ladies of Milano spend time to chat over coffee or a glass of prosecco, depending on the time of day.

In 2018, after the premature passing of Anna, Ilaria decides to realize her dream, tranforming the "secret" workshop in a real store, opening the doors onto Via Gesù, creating the current showcase that keeps the original atmosphere.
